Let's take a look at more reviews from April

A well executed combat story with an intriguing premise and interesting characters. I didn't know how the author would pull elite soldiers from different time periods and cultures together but he did this well. They come together to fight the "horde". An evil relentless enemy seemingly lacking in intelligence. However, just when these soldiers think they have the "horde" beaten, they find out something about them that is a game changer.
The soldiers diverse skills and personalities make for an explosive story.
The writers knowledge and skill make the many battle scenes come to life.
It isn't 'till we are nearing the denouement that we find out how the "horde" came into existence.
Worth a read if you are a sci-fi fan and a fan of combat stories. I can see this being made into a game.

This book had a cinematic feel to it. It was if I were watching all of the events and characters scroll across a giant screen, as opposed to me turning pages. Brilliant and epic tale!!

An Amazingly imaginative plot which alone makes this book stand out. The writing and storytelling are gripping and the concept amazing. I totally enjoyed this book and will be looking for more from Andrew Weston. Excellent.

If you like your science fiction fast paced and gritty, full of realistic action and dark humor in the face of overwhelming odds, then The IX is definitely the epic for you.
Fans of Julian May’s “Saga of the Pliocene Exiles,” Robert Heinlein’s “Have Space Suit, Will Travel”, and Jerry Pournelle's “Janissaries Series” will love this tale. It combines the divergent elements of the past, present, and future, and blends them together into a slick and stylish package that will leave you breathless and hungry for more.
